About the College
JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru has committed itself to become a center for excellence in Dental Education and a world leader in the field of Dental Sciences including hospital practice with the objective of strengthening the health care of the country. `JSS Dental College and Hospital` is located in the city of Mysuru, Karnataka State, South India. Mysuru is known for palaces and gardens and is about 150 kms from Bengaluru. Easily reachable both by roads and railways. The Dental College was established in 1986-87 and is at present conducting BDS and MDS courses in Nine special divisions, and Post Graduate Diploma in five specialities.
The College is recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Government of India. It is affiliated to the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru from 2008-09. Earlier it was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, from 1996-97 and it was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1986-87. The college is located in a JSS Medical Institutions Campus spread across over 38 acres. 5 acres of the total land is exclusively demarcated for the Dental College & Hospital. Separate hostel facilities are provided for both the boy and girl students.

The Institution offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in all 9 specialties of Dentistry, PhD Programs, MSc in Forensic Odontology and Diploma in Dental Mechatronics & Dental Operating Room Assistant (DORA) courses.
- Candidates will have to apply for NEET-UG examination conducted by NTA to take admission in BDS course
- Candidates applying for BDS will have to take the form online from the official website of JSS Dental College, Mysuru
- Candidates applying for the postgraduate courses have to apply online through the official website of NEET-MDS conducted by NBE
- Candidates should have obtained BDS degree from any college recognized by the Dental Council of India for MDS course
- To apply for UG courses, candidates must have at least passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible
- Admission is done strictly on the basis of Merit in the entrance test
- For PhD courses, candidates should have MDS/MSc degree with a minimum of 55% to become eligible
JSS Dental College, Mysuru UG Admission 2022: BDS
JSS Dental College, Mysuru offers BDS at the under-graduate level. BDS is offered for 4 years of duration with a 1-year compulsory rotating internship.
- All the BDS seats, including NRI/Management Quota seats, are allotted only by merit under the state quota through counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in NEET-UG
- Candidates should have the eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) to pursue medical education programmes in the state of Karnataka
- The institute offers 100 seats for BDS every year
Selection for BDS is done on the basis of NEET-UG scores. The merit list is prepared for all the categories based on candidates’ scores in NEET UG. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the college will be called for the admission process

JSS Dental College, Mysuru PG Admission 2022: MDS, MSc
JSS Dental College, Mysuru offers Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in all 9 specialties of Dentistry and Master of Science (MSc) in Forensic Odontology. The course duration of MDS is 3 years. For MSc, the course of study shall be for a period of 3 academic years for non-medical graduates (BSc biological sciences) Medical/Dental/medical MSc graduates shall have lateral entry to 2nd year.
- Candidates who have passed BDS from a Dental college which is recognized by the Dental Council of India are eligible for MDS
- Candidate seeking admission to MSc must have passed BSc with at least one subject of biological Sciences or BSc Biotechnology or MBBS or BDS from a recognized deemed to be university
- Candidate must have completed his/her rotating internship for at least 1 year after passing the BDS examination are eligible to apply
- Candidate must have completed ‘Compulsory Rotating Internship’ on or before 31st March of the admission year
- Counselling will be conducted by the Director General of Health Science (DGHS) and the name of candidates who clear the cut-off score of NEET-MDS will be forwarded to complete the admission process
Selection Process: Selection to MDS is done on the basis of NEET-MDS entrance examination conducted by the DGHS. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates’ scores in NEET PG

JSS Dental College, Mysuru PhD Admission 2022
JSS Dental College, Mysuru offers full-time/part-time PhD Programs.
For admission to PhD courses, candidates can apply twice a year to the Registrar, RGUHS, in April-May and October-November. After passing the criteria, candidates will have to appear for an interview and make a presentation of PhD protocol with/without their guide before the committee. Selected candidates will be referred to the Vice-chancellor for provisional registration.
