Principal’s Message

The Constant efforts of curing ailments for the humans are always being attempted by various medical systems. Ayurveda the science of life has been stated to be remembered by Lord Brahma and has descended to the earth through Sages for the achievement of the four purusharthas such as Dharma, Artha, Kama & Moksha.

It is said that these four are possible only through positive health and the diseases have been a big hindrance for the humans to achieve them. The sages who had brought this science called Ayurveda from the Indralokha have taught not only the ways and means for a healthy life but also have made their best efforts in curing the ailments through herbs. Our Institution a department of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Vishwa Maha Vidyalaya, (Declared as Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. 1956), Kanchipuram started with the grace of His Holiness of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal in the year 1995 with an aim of propagating the importance and efficacy of the Ayurvedic system among the public, has been rendering an yeomen service in the spread of the good health by establishing Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College along with an attached hospital. Students are imparted the insight of the principles of Ayurveda through highly qualified post graduate faculty and these students are the torch bearers in the spread of this medical system throughout the country in a very positive way. Many of the students have been absorbed into the state and central government services as this institution is of a high repute. Students are assured of a sound knowledge by studying the Ayurvedic system of medicine in our Institution and I am sure the grace of Lord Dhanwantari and Their Holinesses of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam will certainly fall on them to take them to great heights.

INTRODUCTION

• Sri Kanchi Sankaracharaya Swamigal the 69th pontiff of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, HH Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal apart from blessing the human kind with Spiritual knowledge has decided to patronize Ayurveda, the Indian traditional system of medicine in Tamilnadu, through establishing Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital in the Year 1995. This College not only provides course knowledge and its clinical application but also gives highly qualified Doctors to the society.
